I posted this over at
holiday_wishes the other day and I thought I'd post it over here as well.

Hi, all! Season's Greetings and Happy Holidays! My name is Christina and I'm a 30 year-old from Ohio. This is my first year participating in
holiday_wishes. I found this comm through Megan,
stringdancegirl.
I've had a few tough years and I don't really have any money, but I'm hoping I can at least swing some cards/postcards/letters to people. Ideally I'd like to send out cards to everyone, but I don't think that'll be possible. But I'll do my best! :)
Like I said, I've had a hard couple of years. I had to stop working back in 2002 for Transportation reasons, but before I could start work again, I started having health issues. It got much worse starting 3 years ago or so and in the last year I've found out that in addition to the moderate-severe Psoriasis I've had since I was 6, I also have some form of Inflammatory Arthritis (either Rheumatoid or Psoriatic) in all of my joints, but especially my back and hands, which makes it pretty impossible for me to work. I'm waiting on a court date for disability, since I've been denied and I've gotten some food assistance, but I've been denied for all other types of assistance.
But I make do as best I can and try to stay positive.Anyway, on to my list. With everything below,
Used is ♥.
1. Visa prepaid giftcards. Any amount would be great, because even though I get food assistance, I don't get medical and my medications are starting to cost a lot of money. I usually spend about $50/month on medications alone, not to mention gas to get to my Dr.s appointments in my brother's car. If I could collect $50-75, I could pay for going to an appointment AND my meds for a month and be less of a burden to my family, who so graciously helps me out. And maybe if I have a few dollars left I can put it toward an article of clothing I desperately need.
2. Anything from My Amazon Wishlist. There's a lot of stuff there, all neatly arranged because I mostly use it as a shopping list of things I'd like to try to buy. But anything from there would be appreciated.
3. Anything Edgar Allan Poe related! My favorite's are The Raven, The Cask of Amantillado, and The Murders in the Rue Morgue, but I love all his writing, even the essays. I LOVE Poe and anything to do with him. Anything from a little raven knick-knack to a book. Even your favorite quote or a little Poe inspired doodle on a post it.
4. Anything Conan O'Brien! I've been a pretty hard-core Coco-nut from back in the day (90's Conan, WHAT! WHAT!). I saw the tour this summer and it honestly made my year. In fact, it made my decade. Stuff is hard to come by, but I'd love anything from a newspaper clipping to a pin to a poster to a mug. Any way I can show my crazy Love for Conan.
5. Postage Stamps I can always use stamps. Especially around this time of year.
6. A digital Camera. I love to take photos and I actually have a few photo projects in mind. I'd love 5 megapixels and up, but honestly, as long as it took a halfway decent picture, I'd be happy. Also, the other day, I had a dream that someone from here sent me a digicam, so that prompted me to include it on my list. Are you going to be the one to make my dream come true?
7. Here's my big ticket item.
A laptop. My dream laptop is an HP tablet, but I would be perfectly happy with a new-to-me laptop of any type. (I'm a PC.) I have access to a desktop, but in a couple months I'll be going out on the road with my dad for a week or more at a time to get me out of the house. The internet is the only connection I have to the outside world. It would be great if I could stay in touch with people for that week or so.
8. Tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. I love all these and I love trying new kinds. I'm especially fond of black and mint teas, but I'm willing to try anything. Do you have a spare bag of your favorite tea, or a pod of your favorite coffee blend lying around? Want to buy me a whole package? Send it my way. And with it getting colder out, my tea/coffee/hot chocolate drinking goes way up. Help support my habit!
9. Office supplies. Looks like I'm not the only one, but I love having lots of office supplies around. Pens, pencils, notepads, post-its...
10. Snail Mail! I love getting mail. Want to send a Christmas/Holiday card or a random card for no reason? Want a pen pal? Want to send me a picture of something? I don't care. I love getting mail from people. Fill up my mailbox and annoy my mailman. XD (It's okay, he's a good sport.)
If you want my address, send me an email at domino43@gmail.com or message me here on LJ. When emailing, make sure you include you LJ username so I can keep track of who's who.
