Well, I haven't been around since Corie and them moved out because I've been in this horribly depressed mood for, like, the last 1 1/2+ weeks. I was originally going to post a sad song, but I decided to go with an upbeat one instead.

This is from Madness' album The Dangermen Sessions Vol.1.  I love the Calypso beat.  The song gets stuck in your head.

Madness - Shame & Scandal

Sorry I haven' been around in a couple weeks. Lots going on. I'll elaborate more later, when I have the time. I just thought it was time for a Music Saturday since I actually had a chance to get on the comp today.

Today's song is:

Jennifer Paige - Crush

This week I bring you a song that always manages to make me smile. It has a funny memory attached to it and no matter what, I always think of it when I hear the song.

One summer my brother Paul and I were with Corie and for some reason we were walking across the college campus (where Paul and I both worked at the time) and I was humming the song, it was on the radio when we drove in if I remember correctly, and all of a sudden Paul and I both just broke out singing the chorus.  We tend to do things like that.

The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup

Once again, sorry I haven't really been around much lately.  Partly from being gone, partly from not feeling up to it and partly from losing the internet for 2 or three days.  I guess I've been in a bit of a depressed mood lately and it's effecting my online time.  I don't know what it is.  I guess it's just one of my phases.  I've been wanting to sleep a lot or just not really wanting to get out of bed, even though I make myself.  Not that I really do anything then, but it's a step in the right direction.  And my back is tight and hurts pretty bad today.  But enough yacking, on to the music.

This has always been one of my favorite songs.  I even decided long ago that if I ever had a daughter with grey or greyish-hazel eyes I'd call her Windy.

The Association - Windy

Sorry I haven't been around much. I can't seem to find the time, even though I have nothing better to do, or the energy to get online lately.

Anyway, since I missed last Saturday, I bring you a Double (Triple, actually) Dose of music.

Last week I was going to bring you the following:

Alizée - Moi...Lolita in French

Тату - Досчитай до ста (transliterated, that's: Tatu - Doschitay Do Sta) in Russian

And for this week:
George Harrison - Faster

Lyrics to Faster )
domino43: (Hansard - listen)
Today, I offer a double header. Technically, they're the same song, so I'm including them both. "Locusts" is from the album Burn the Maps. "Lócaistí" they did for Seachtain na Gaeilge 2005 and included on the "SnaG '05" compilation album. I personally like "Lócaistí" better, but I wanted to include the original version for those that didn't want to hear a song in Gaeilge that they wouldn't understand. Not that I do.

Locusts - The Frames

Lócaistí - The Frames

That's about all. I need to get to bed. I should have been sleeping hours ago.

Well, it's a little late, but it's still Saturday in some parts of the world. This week I bring you:

Here's To Love - Renee Zellweger & Ewan McGregor

Okay, there are so many different special days here on LJ already, ie. Poetry Tuesday, that all you people participate in that I don't, but I thought I would start one anyway.  From now on, I'm going to do "Music Saturday".  Every Saturday  I'll post lyrics and/or a downloadable song.

Let's start this thing off with Tammy Wynette's "D-I-V-O-R-C-E", since it's been in my head for the last week.

D-I-V-O-R-C-E

Our little boy is four years old and quite a little man
So we spell out the words we don't want him to understand
Like T-O-Y or maybe S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E
But the words we're hiding from him now
Tear the heart right out of me.

Our D-I-V-O-R-C-E becomes final today
Me and little J-O-E will be goin' away
I love you both and it will be pure H-E double L for me
Oh, I wish that we could stop this D-I-V-O-R-C-E.

Watch him smile, he thinks it Christmas
Or his 5th Birthday
And he thinks C-U-S-T-O-D-Y spells fun or play
I spell out all the hurtin' words
And turn my head when I speak
'Cause I can't spell away this hurt
That's drippin' down my cheek.

Our D-I-V-O-R-C-E becomes final today
Me and little J-O-E will be goin' away
I love you both and it will be pure H-E double L for me
Oh, I wish that we could stop this D-I-V-O-R-C-E.
