Catching up...and ranting...

Well, first off: I'm sorry to anyone who worried where I had gone.  Will explain that later on in the post.

Secondly, I have so much to say since last Thursday, I'm compartmentalizing and doing this update in several updates.  Does that make sense?

Okay, on with the ranting...

Reason I disappeared unexpectedly: Well, Corie asked me to babysit on Tuesday (overnight) so that her and Bub (my cousin Robert, her boyfriend) could go to a concert he bought tickets to back in April.  No problem whatsoever.  I love watching my boys.  Plus, I hadn't gotten a real chance to see them in a while, so I was actually looking forward to it.  Well, Sunday afternoon/evening my dad came in and told me to get ready, he was "supposed to take me into town to babysit while Corie and Bub move" into their new apartment.  Alright.  I put my shoes on and we left.  Well, after I got there, moving ended up taking a little longer than any of us had expected, so it was really late by the time they were done for the day.  So I spent the night.  Then Monday morning, we kind of decided that since Paul was going to come get me originally on Monday night or Tuesday morning, I should just stay there that extra day.  I did, I babysat Tuesday night all went fine, for the most part (besides a crying 9-month-old from 4am - 5:30am-ish).  Well, Bub was being a BUTT and decided that since he didn't have to work Wednesday night he was leaving until morning.  I was going to call Paul to take me home, but he wasn't going to get home until after11:30pm.  Bub just had to leave before that.  But he said he'd call for me after that.  Well, I ended up waiting up half the night for Paul to show up and he didn't.  So Corie had to call him the next morning to take me home.  Finally got home Thursday afternoon.  And then dad came home so I didn't get any time on the comp.  And he didn't have to work today until late, so I've just now finished catching up on everything that's gone on in nearly a week.  Whew!

First set of complaints is about family...

I can't believe my cousin Robert!  He's such a HYPOCRITE and, really, quite a sleaze.  He's so unbelieveable.  Okay, for the LONGEST time, he's been chatting with girls over the net.  Okay, not such a big deal.  Except that he's been with Corie for about 4 years now and they have 3 kids together.  Well, since they've been living together, he's still been chatting with TONS of girls.  In and of itself, that doesn't bother her.  She figures it's just the internet, so whatever.  Well, about 2 years back she found a printout of a conversation he'd had with this one girl, whom he'd apperantly been chatting with for quite a while.  It was VERY sexual, still not a huge, Earth-shattering thing.  She could handle that.  Until she saw that the girl mentioned that she was only 15.  And Bub was 21 at the time.  She thought maybe after he found that out he would stop talking to this girl.  I mean, come on, really.  But then she found some printouts from AFTER that and they just got heavier.  She atributed the sexual talk to the fact that she'd not been very receptive to his advances, since she'd just had twins and all.  Well, after she said something to him about how he had to be careful and not talk like that to a minor, he must have stopped, cuz she never found anything else.  Well, I guess the reason that they lost their last apartment is because, even though he said he was paying everything, nothing seemed to have gotten paid, rent, utilities, nothing.  Except for the cable/internet bill.  But the money was mysteriously gone.  And then she found these texts on his cell when she was trying to figure it out one day from this girl that apperently knew all about her and the boys and kept saying some very suspicous things, like about seeing him again soon and stuff.  Everyone, including his own father, is convinced he's been sending money to this chick.  And he's been acting very weird and she just knows (without really knowing.  You know what I mean?) that he's sleeping with someone else.  Now, mind you, Corie and I were talking about this and she said she wouldn't really have minded him sleeping with someone else once and a while (she's very open), but she can't take the lying.  So that's the "sleaze" part.  The unbelieveable part is that they had someone staying with them for a few days before they had to leave (she was getting kicked out as well) and she'd been using Corie's profile on the computer.  Well, she'd been chatting with this guy and Bub came accross them (I don't know if he was looking for something like that or if he just stumbled accross them) and he was acussing Corie of being the one chatting.  And he got mad at her!  WTF??

Alrighty, Uncle Sam.  Now, I really don't mind him being here.  And I have to admite that it's kind of nice that he sometimes buys some good food and lets us eat it, too even though he doesn't have to.  And he IS paying for the cable (which is involved with another rant I'll get into later) and the internet, so that's not all bad.  But, OH, MY, FREAKING GOD!  Seriously!  He's driving me NUTS with his neatness!  Let me explain that before you scratch your heads too much.  Now I'll admit that we're none of us in this family (at least that live here) the best housekeepers.  We just seem to get too busy/distracted to pick up after ourselves sometimes.  But eventually we get to it.  Well, we've got this HUGE table, that dad made when him and mom were still married and all us kids lived at home and I was the only kid with a job. Well, we never eat at the table and we just kind of use it as counter space and just pile stuff on it.  Including empty bags and packages sometimes.  We DO clean the table off every once and a while and the vicious cycle starts all over again.  Well, Uncle Sam has to "have a place to sit down and have a cup of coffee", so he had me help him clean it off.  Not such a big deal since it kind of needed done anyway.  But since then if you leave one little thing, including maybe an empty cup or a spoon or something, on the table, he FREAKS OUT about it.  "This table was clean.  Why can't anyone pick anything up?  Why do they just leave things laying on the table?"  Stuff like that.  And it's, like, every 5 minutes!  And then there's the dishes!  I'm usually the one that has to do the dishes around here and I really don't like doing them, so I never do them every day.  But we've hardly had the food to actually eat off dishes all the time lately anyway, so it's not been a big deal.  Except that as soon as there are, like 4 or 5 things in the sink he washes them.  Which might seem kind of nice, since I'M not the one doing them, but do have any idea how annoying it is when suddenly at midnight someone washes a sinkful of dishes while you're trying to relax in front of the TV?

And speaking of the TV... We need a new TV.  For some STUPID reason, our TV doesn't get a bunch of the cable channels right.  They're all fuzzy.  Some are still watchable, some you can only faintly see a vague idea of a picture, and others are nothing but static.  We can't figure it out other than there has to be something wrong with the TV.  We already checked the wire and Uncle Sam's TV, which is connected from the same jack through a splitter, is perfect.

And on to the stupid computer.  First off, it barely has any memory, so it gets slow sometimes.  Very annoying.  But what really bugs me is that since it's gotten hot, it seems to overheat or something and freezes up ALL the time!  You'll be in the middle of watching a movie or viewing a page, or updating your journal... and WHAM!  nothing.  Then you have to shut it off and start it all back up again.  Very inconvenient.  And just this morning I was on and it froze.  Well, when I restarted, I found that my dad had put a password on hisprofile, which I also use.  And I couldn't get into it.  And the way the guest account is set up, I can't work on my stories.  Documents are set to read-only.  Which I only noticed after I finally had a big chunk of Chapter 14 typed up and ready to save.  GRR!!  And I think I'm done with that chapter finally too.  But I won't be sure until I can read the whole thing in one shot.  So, it'll be at least another day until an update.  SORRY!

I guess that's enough rants for now.  Will recap my stay with Corie and the boys next.
