I'm back, back in the LJ Groove

It's really been 3 weeks? EEP! It's taken me the last couple days to catch up. I skimmed over all/most of the posts, but I didn't really get to read many of them all the way through.
Finally got my comp hooked up, so I'll be able to get on more often now. Brother went and picked up a monitor from the house. Instead of the monitor that came with this comp he grabbed the 19" that dad had sitting on the porch. Luckily it works. OMG! Pics, especially Hi-res, look AWESOME on here! And I can read the text from practically halfway acros the room. And that's with the type set normal. I just wish it was a flat screen b/c it's set up in the living room on the coffee table and now I won't be able to watch TV while I'm laying down to go to sleep. Boo. :(
Boys were amazingly good while brother and Corie were gone. All weekend I didn't even have to really clean and only had to sweep the living room once. Brother only got me one yaoi, but it's pretty awesome. It's called "Predestination". It's Aragorn/Boramir. Seems to me that Aragorn/Boramir is the most popular LOTR yaoi pairing. This one isn't as easy to figure out as the other one that's in Japanese. I really need to scan both of them so I can get a Japanese reader/speaker to scanslate them for me.
Ugh. My back is killing me. I've got a knot at least the size of my fist right next to my tailbone. And I have pretty big fists. lol. It's hurt so bad for the last three days. Tuesday was the worst. It's been slowly getting a little better, especially since brother brougt me my IcyHot from the house yesterday. It still hurts, but at least I can walk a little without tears coming to my eyes now. Hopefully it'll be much better by this weekend. It would be aewsome if it was better tomorrow, but I know it won't be.
OH! and Sunday night brother proposed to Corie. They're getting married Memorial Day wekend next year. It's going to be up at mom's house because her and David just bought a house. It's really nice and has a fairly big yard for being in town. She's all worried she won't be able to plan it all in a year. I already have half of it figured out in my head and it's only been a couple days. But they need that year to save up. And they need to try and cut costs as much as possible because they're probably only going to be able to save about $1000-$1500 in a year with all the fixing up of the house they need to do. They've already got no cost for venues because of using the house. And no real food costs because they're doing a pot-luck reception. No cost for a DJ because they're just going to figure out their music and make a playlist and hook up brother's laptop to a stereo. All they're really going to have to pay for is flowers, her dress, his outfit, decorations (which will be minimal)...what else? If anyone has any other cost-cutting or planning ideas, let me know. She already told me I'm her wedding planner, so I could use any help I can get. This'll be the first wedding I've had anything to do with besides just attending.
That's about all I can think of right now. Maybe I'll think of something later.

Date: 2008-05-29 07:57 pm (UTC)And, if Corie doesn't mind a "used dress" I know that here at our Goodwill Superstore, they have OUTRAGEOUSLY BEAUTIFUL wedding dresses for sale at about 1/4 of the cost or less of a NEW one. And hey, they've only been worn once! That right there will save a BUNCH, trust me!
