I would have done this yesterday, but I got distracted and didn't get over to LJ until about 15 minutes before brother got home.

Not really feeling all that great today. My toe is severely infected again. Dad has surgery to remove a lump on his head (just a calcium deposit on his forehead, nothing serious) on Friday and I'm going to drive him home afterward. Since I'll have, like, five hours I'm going to their ER (NOT the one I've been going to) to see what they'll be able to do. They're a good hospital and not incompetent like my local hospital. Hopefully they'll take care of it. They usually have specialists they can call in day or night to do stuff. *fingers crossed*

Star Trek was AWESOME! Much better than I expected. Bravo Chris Pine, you proved me wrong. My favorite part was McCoy chasing Kirk around giving him injections. Needed more Scotty. And old Spock.

Wolverine... It was good for what it was, but I wasn't as impressed as with the other three. And that says a lot, since I wasn't a giant fan of X3. The whole Deadpool thing bothered me. But I may just be a big nerd. And since when could ALL mutants easily clamber up walls like there was basically no gravity? Sabertooth, okay. But Gambit? Really? Being able to control energy makes you able to run up a wall like nothing? Wish I'd known that.

Sorry, I'd have more comprehensive reviews, but brother will be back soon and I need to get off here pretty quick when he does. Hopefully I'll get more of a chance to be on tomorrow, as I've got a little bit to vent about. We'll see.

Comp officially died yesterday. I was just starting to watch 30 Rock and it turned off. Dad's pretty sure some of the lemonade got inside and fried the board. And he would know fried motherboards. Whatever. I didn't have anything on it.

Brother is letting me use his new comp while he's working OT today.

Ugh. Also, I have had this terrible bout of insomnia lately. I haven't been able to get to sleep until about 7 am. I really need to fall asleep sooner. Getting between 3 and 5 hours a night only is killing me. And my brain is going 8 zillion miles a minute. I need it to calm down a tiny bit. I'm going to try a sleeping pill tonight, as much as I hate to, and see if that helps. We'll see.

Onto the quizzes )
domino43: (Dean - Close-up)
for about a week now. The kids were on spring break and brother has been working 7 days a week so I haven't had a lot of time online. I can pretty much keep up reading, but not post when I want to. Hopefully soon that will change. Brother and Corie are going to Chicago in 3 weeks and I told dad that I ant the comp set up down here before they leave. Brother has it up in their room, but I need dad's computer desk before he can bring it down. Dad got rid of the nice big office desk it was on.

Busy week last week. Like I said, kids were home and didn't go back to school until the 14th. Three obnoxious boys at home all the time = very little sleep for me. Not to mention Easter. Apparently, Easter is Thomas' fave holiday. The whole week they had off school, every single day, he'd ask if it was Easter yet. Easter day was no fun. Mostly because when I was changing the bandage on my toe, I noticed that something just wasn't right. I called my dad down to look at it and he said it looked discolored and I should probably go into the ER and get it checked out as that's how Uncle had lost his foot. One day he went into the Dr. with a slightly discolored toe, they waited 3 days for it to heal and the next thing you know, he's had to get half his foot lopped off. Yeah. Needless to say, that didn't make me too confident. Then when I was putting on my shoes and Corie was coming down the stairs she's all, "Are you going somewhere?" I tell her where and why. [very put out] "I guess we'll have to take the kids with us to the store then..." [/very put out] Thanks for the concern.

Spent a good 2 1/2 hours in the ER, saw one of the few competent docs there. I have, yet another, serious infection. When she told me they "don't do anything for toe's here, unless it's a fracture", I got the idea it's policy for them to just tell you to see a specialist. And why not. All the ones they suggest you see have offices in the hospital. Anyway, she had the nurse take a culture then scrub and soak my foot, which is more than any of the others had done. She then prescribed me 2 antibiotics and Vicodin. Dad picked up the antibiotics but not the Vic. If it doesn't stop hurting like this soon, though, I may see if him or brother will get it for me when they get paid.

Came home and everyone else was gone. They pulled in a couple minutes later. "We're gonna take the kids to town and spend some time with them." Big surprise, since Easter dinner had yet to be started! So, in pain and infected me and dad had to do most of the dinner ourselves. Oh, and just a little before the stuff we did was ready they came home. "Oh, we have to go back to town because we forget (a), (b) and (c) for dinner. We'll be back soon." 2 hours later and a phone call to do one of her dishes later they come strolling in. Yeah, thanks. No, I'll live and yes, I still have my foot...for now. Thanks for the concern, you guys.

And since Sunday and the doc (one whom Corie trusts as well) said I have to try to stay off my foot as much as possible until the infection gets much better, things have been tense. Monday she did the laundry (usually my job) and put away 1 barely full basket of the kids' clothes and had a fit about it. Then last night or this morning she says "I've been doing everything..." FOR 2 DAYS! Get off your high horse and accept the fact that someone else needs your help for once. God forbid anything should make her life any harder or inconvenience her at all.

And now they're home and I'll have to get off here. Guess I'll have to finish this rant and the other stuff I wanted to say later. As usual. *sigh*
domino43: (Hugh - cyan)
URGH! I need a paid account so bad. I'm so sick of only having 15 icons to choose from, and none of them George/Beatles. I think after I get paid for watching the kids for almost a week in May, I'm going to upgrade again.

I'm going to be up and down while typing this because I'm in the middle of making dinner and washing laundry. Not that you'll notice.

Anyway, now that dinner is sitiated...

I really wish my toe would hurry up and heal. Both sides have proud flesh now. And the last few days it has hurt like you wouldn't believe. Of course, kids kicking and stepping on it don't help much...

The boys have been unholy terrors lately. Well, Thomas and Connor anyway. Connor is going through this phase where he thinks he can tell his big brothers what to do and they have to listen. And that's on top of the two of them thinking they don't have to listen to anyone anymore. At least Ryan's always pretty good. Even on his bad days he's about even with the other two's good days. Oh, and speaking of Ryan, I think he's got himself a little first grade girlfriend. Apparently, she walks him the the bus to come home and the other day she gave him a little note. It had her name and something I can't read (though it looks like another name) on it. But she gave it to him, so...

Ugh. I didn't get to do or say everything I wanted to, but Brother and Corie are on their way home and I'm sure brother will want his comp back.

And on a totally random note: I totally love Ringo's dancing. He sure has got the moves!
domino43: (Dean - Close-up)
Just updating.

I don't think I said anything before, but back in October I got an ingrown toenail that got infected and didn't heal right. It then developed granulation tissue (or "proud flesh'). It was supposed to heal on its own. It's not. 4 months later and it's barely gone away. I went back into the ER to get it taken care of and the doc REFUSED to do anything! Um, hello? Can't do that, Mr. doctor-man! Ohio has a law about ERs refusing service to anyone. When I told him about the proud flesh, he didn't even know what I was talking about. Then he told me about ingrown toenails, as if the extra tissue was the side of my toe and the toenail was under that. Uh...wrong again, buddy. I was told by several people to go into the ER and they'd just slice it off. Well, he told me that if he cut anything it would "just bleed all over". Seriously. Um...they have this invention now, doc. I believe they're called bandages. He was also extremely rude, saying on several occasions, "I can't do anything about it" before walking out of the room. The next day (it was 3 am when I went in) I called the hospital and filed a complaint about him. I'm supposed to hear something back as soon as tomorrow. Really, I just want them to say they'll take care of it. I'll drop it if they do. If not, I'm getting ahold of a malpractice lawyer. I need this taken care of. It hurts and I got a second infection in it (which Dr. Idiot prescribed an antibiotic for, luckily). I also have to stand in a wedding in 2 1/2 months and with this I can't wear dress shoes. BTW, did I mention that it hurts?

Also, upon urging from my dad, I've started the Disability application process. Just started that today. He seems to think I'll get accepted. I'm not so upbeat about it, having seen what they put him through only to end up denying him. And my aunt got accepted but it took her almost 2 years, I think. Whatever. We'll see.

Kids seem to be behaving a little better. Most of the time. Hopefully they'll get better over the summer.

On a lighter note, I've been playing a LOT of PokéMon on Gameboy Advance. I had the game nearly won. I only had 3 more towns to go to and a couple gyms to win. Then last night Thomas started a new game and saved it. You can only have one game saved at a time. Yeah.

Ooh! I saw Taken! OMG! Awesome!

I can't wait until May 8th! Star Trek! I still don't know what to think about it. Guess I'll HAVE to see it. *g*

Now, I think it's time to eat. *waves*

So, we're all moving out to the house tomorrow. Brother and Corie are out taking care of switching the electric and running a few things out there.

Tomorrow is going to be busy. They're heading out at 8am to get a U-Haul so they can go pick up a new fridge and drop it off at the house to start getting cold. Then they're going to come back here and load as much of the last stuff as possible into the truck and run it to the house. Hopefully they can get everything in one or two trips because brother needs to get the U-Haul back at noon. On the last trip to the house, I'll drive the kids in the car over there. Then I'll have to follow brother to the U-Haul drop-off so he can get home. After that we're going to try to get as much situated as possible before he goes to work. He's gotta leave for work around 2. There are still a couple rooms that need cleaned/cleared so that everything can get situated. Somehow after brother is at work, Corie and I have to do this so that we can transfer my stuff from upstairs to downstairs and then get at least their bed upstaris so that they can go to bed when brother gets home after midnight. I think dad's staying there so he can take the kids outside to play while we're packing/moving/unpacking/situating stuff.

We're going to be situating stuff for the next week or two probably. Oh yeah. And during all of this, brother and Corie have to try to get Ryan and Thomas ready to start Kindergarten. They'll start the 19th or 21st, depending on which elementary they go to. I don't know why one has a different start datte than the other two. Or if they all start on the 21st. They missed the screening, so they have to work that out with the district. Actually, I think they can't start until the 22nd. I think they're physical is the 21st. And they can't start until a day after they get the papers all turned in. So, kid-wise, it's going to be a busy couple weeks.

Aaaaaaand the stupid cable company decided they can't get the cable/internet/phone turned on over there until the 12th. So after today I'll be out of cantact for nearly a week. At least it'll give me time to find a computer desk.

And I haven't been sleeping well, or much, in the past week. So I'm dead on my feet as it is. I think this weekend I'm going to bed early and waking up as late as possible. I wish we had some coffee.

*turns out he won't be picking up the fridge, it's getting delivered, so that gives us more time to move stuff. yay.

I've decided ^that^ is Ryan's new theme song. The twins went to the dentist Monday. I guess Ryan was being mouthy and kept telling the hygienist that he didn't have to do what she said and to get her hands out of his mouth. At least once he told her, "I will bite you." And he did. They had to do his x-rays 3 times because he was moving so much. The boy is a freak of nature. He's 5 1/2 and he's got all his baby teeth. Like, including his 6 and 12-year molars. How does a 5-year-old have his 12-year molars already? They weren't concerned about it. He's also got his first loose tooth. That should fall out by this weekend. They also said he should have all his adult teeth before too long at the rate his teeth are growing. He also has 2 cavities. He's going back Friday to get them fixed. Because of how much he moved, they're thinking they'll have to knock him out to do it. They don't want to accidentally drill his gums or cheek. RobbieThomas'* exam went well. Dentist said his teeth are perfect. He was extremely well behaved considering this was their first trip to the dentist and he was terrified for the whole week or two before they went.
*They're changing his name to Thomas as soon as they get the DNA results in a week or so. Gotta start calling him that now.

OMG. I'm about to rip my hair out. Connor is driving me batty. He's gotten to his "terrible 2s" even though he's nearly 4. He's gotten extremely nosey and has this sense of entitlement. It's crazy. And he will not listen to me no matter what. None of my punishments work, none of Corie's, none of brother's. He'll cry and then be good for a little while, then go right back to what he was doing to get him in trouble. I'm about to string him up by the toes.

Brother is on vacation this week. They were going to take the kids to the zoo Saturday, but I just found out that they can't afford it now. They spent more than half the money he had left driving around looking for a certain pipe they needed for the new well pump. Turns out they didn't absolutely need it. Dad just cut it off for them and he's just going to set it about a foot higher in the well. It won't hurt anything. They've been over there everyday, all day working on getting the house all clened and everything fixe and stuff moved around since Saturday. Everyone has to be out of here in 1 1/2 - 2 weeks. It's going to be hectic. Brother wants to start moving things like movies and books over starting tomorrow. Besides a few appointments they have for the next couple of days, they'll be out there the rest of the week. Their zoo trip was supposed to be my break from the kids. WAAAH! No I'm not going to get a break for who knows how long. I'm going to go insane by next week.

Plus, I haven't been sleeping well. I'm tired all day. And my back has been hurting. And I've been having headaches everyday. Yelling at Connor all time isn't helping those. I think part of it is CONNOR these kids getting me so frustrated all the time lately. And Corie turns the A/C on as soon as it hits 70 outside. I get cold and it hurts my joints. I keep telling her that just b/c it's 70 outside doesn't mean it it inside. And she leaves it on all night. The bedroom is a couple rooms away from the kitchen, where the A/C is, and it gets really hot in there at night. I understand that. But then it gets chilly in the living room. It makes it a bit uncomfortable for me. I NEED A VACATION! I can't wait til we're all moved in. I need a real bed again and I can take naps when I do. And the twins should be starting kindergarten in the middle of August. YAY.

Ugh. I guess that's about it for now. I really need to get to bed. I should probably eat something, since all I've had today is some ramen and french fries for lunch but i think I'm too tired. bleh.
domino43: (Cala - heart)
It's really been 3 weeks? EEP! It's taken me the last couple days to catch up. I skimmed over all/most of the posts, but I didn't really get to read many of them all the way through.

Finally got my comp hooked up, so I'll be able to get on more often now. Brother went and picked up a monitor from the house. Instead of the monitor that came with this comp he grabbed the 19" that dad had sitting on the porch. Luckily it works. OMG! Pics, especially Hi-res, look AWESOME on here! And I can read the text from practically halfway acros the room. And that's with the type set normal. I just wish it was a flat screen b/c it's set up in the living room on the coffee table and now I won't be able to watch TV while I'm laying down to go to sleep. Boo. :(

More updates under the cut. )

That's about all I can think of right now. Maybe I'll think of something later.

urgh. I think i'm getting over an intestinal bug. For the last 4 days or so, I've been having some intestinal issues. They finally seem to be tapering off. On top of that, I haven't been sleeping very well. So now I feel like crap. I hope I'll feel better by this weekend.

Does anyone else out there have the same problem as I do? There are a few family recipes (chicken and rice, fidello, tortillas, tamales, menudo, etc.) that you can easily make, but when you're trying to explain it to someone else you have to sit and think about it and almost re-enact the steps in order to make sure you don't forget something? Monday night Corie decided to make rice and was double checking with me on it and I actually had to stand there and pretend I was making it in order to make sure I told her right. All our family recipes are done by eye, so it's really hard to explain to her.

One week until I'll be watching the kids for 4 days (Thursday afternoon-Sunday night) while brother and Corie are off in Chicago at ACen (Anime Central). I'm not really looking forward to it. Of course, I'll be getting $40-$50 plus a yaoi. And a yaoi that he owes me from the last con. I told him more LOTR or some POTC are my first choice. I'd have him look for something from one of the Animes I watch, but they mostly have girls in them. Unless he found a Hideki/Shinbo. LOTR and POTC are still my #1 choices. I already have 2 LOTR yaoi, so it would add to my collection nicely.

So, Ryan ended up waking up the next day after my last post totally fine. But Robbie was sick, all that day. Unlike Ryan, he actually slept. He was fine yesterday. Corie was sick, today. I'm still a little sick. Still a slight infection, but nothing terrible. Hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll be fine.

Urgh. So, I want to write a Beatle slash with George and Ringo. I'm having a bit of trouble deciding how... sexual to actually make it. Do I want to simply imply (you know, keep my little innocent Georgie innocent), do I want a little kissing/touching (I actually have a little scene worked out for that), or do I want all out sex? Keep in mind, it's to take place in about '61 when the Beatles came back to Hamburg (as did Rory Storm & the Hurricanes) after George being deported the year before for only being 17, so he's only just 18 and Ringo is 21. Thoughts?

Anything else? Hmmmm... Actually, I think, that's it for right now.

*Did I just say "actually" as many times as I think I did?

meh :\

I've felt like crap the past few days and it seems like it's getting worse. I've got a bad sinus infection. It's making my throat raw and it hurts a lot. I've been drinking mint tea for a few days and it seems like it's helping with the pain and some of the stuffiness for a little while. Then it comes back. I feel extra crappy today. I'm achy too. And a little nauteated. I think my sinuses are draining into my stomach, causing my intestinal problems. I need a nap, but I feel bad taking one. I know Corie really wouldn't mind, but I still feel bad.

And poor little Ryan caught my infection somehow, even though I've been trying to avoid close contact with them. Middle of the evening yesterday he suddenly got tired and didn't want to eat. He had a burger from BK and had some ice cream (after a little nap in the booth at Dairy Queen). When we got home he napped some more. I made him wake up so I could take his coat off him and he was hot. I let him sit a little while o I could see if it was a fever or not. When he said he was cold I knew he had a fever. A pretty bad one. And brother's thrmometer was broken (thanks to Connor putting it under water). Corie got him into a cool bath and as he was finishing up he threw up the ice cream. Poor kids been feeling terrible since then. He's been in bed all day. He's oinly been able to muster up the strength and appitite to eat 2 pieces of toast and a few spoonfuls of chicken broth. And Connor and Corie are starting to get sick again, even though they were both sick last week with sinus infections and that's where I got it. Robbie and brother are the only ones not getting sick. Brother's at work all day so I can see why he wouldn't get sick, but Robbie won't stay away from sick people. I don't know why he's not getting sick.

First, to Kat: I have a letter I needs to send to you! I wrote it the other day, but my dad keeps forgetting to bring me an envelope and stamp(s). I'll try to get it out by this weekend.

Guh. I'm sick. I've got a scratchy throat and I'm starting to get laryngitis, I think. And I'm a bit sore. Thanks a lot, Ryan.

And, a few quizzes swiped from [livejournal.com profile] obselizabeth.

Your Score: Akkadian

You scored

You are Akkadian, a blend of the incomprehensible symbols of the Sumerians with the unwritable sounds of the early Semitic peoples. However, the writing just doesn't suit the words and doesn't represent everything needed, so you end up a schizoid mess. Invented in Babylon, you're probably to blame for that tower story. However, crazy as you are, you're much loved and appreciated, and remain actively in use by records keepers long after schools have switched to other languages.

*scratch, scratch*

The psoriasis that's been working its way to the bottom of my foot suddenly started itching something FIERCE. And it won't stop. I'm about to rip all the skin off my foot. Grr.
domino43: (Dean - Close-up)
Okay, this is probably going to be a long rant about health issues. Feel free to skip it.

Okay, where to start. I guess the first thing on my mind is my psoriasis. It's been getting progressively worse over the last year or so. i guess my health in general has, but this is the most noticeable. I'm starting to get patches on my feet. They've even started wrapping around to the bottoms of my feet. I've never even had small spots on my feet. Now I get this horrible itching on the arches of my feet. All my psoriasis itches, but over the last 20 years I've pretty much gotten used to it. This is SO much worse. You'd think it wouldn't be, since the bottoms of your feet are less sensitive than other skin. Not the case. I really need to see my dermatologist. Too bad I can't afford it. plus, I think I may be starting to develop really bad psoriatic arthritis in my spine.

Which brings me to my next problem. The last two years or so I've been getting really bad pain in my back. And my knees have been getting worse. Like, if I stand for more than 5 minutes at a time, my knees lock and I can't bend them. And my back aches so bad that I have to sit down for at least 15-20 minutes before I can get up again. And it seems to be getting worse. My back is in pretty much constant pain. The only thing I can do is take lots of ibuprofin when it's unbearable. But I can't afford that. And I can't afford to go to the doctor to see what it is for sure and see what can be done about it.

Both of these problems are starting to worry me. unfortunately, worrying makes my psoriasis worse. It's a vicious cyle. lol I wish there was something I could do.
domino43: (Vig/Karl)
UGH! I hate being sick. Well, not really sick, per se... I just got over a sinus infection Tuesday or so. And since then, my sinuses are still stuffy and making me dizzy. And since the infection's been gone, I've had this horrible asthmatic congestion. Luckily it's just asthma. I just wish I had an inhaler. I haven't had to use one in a couple years, so I never bothered on getting a new prescription. But since I can't afford to go to the doctor (and my doctor I used to go to moved, anyway), I'm not about to go to the hospital just to get a scrip. If it gets to the point where I REALLY can't breathe, like worse than it was the other day, then I'll go into ReadyCare. But until then, I'll deal with it.

Still no news or any strategy on getting to Chicago. About ready to ask brother to take a day off that week just so we can go. So tempted. We'll see. But I better do it quick, if I am, because tickets become available next Wednesday.

Brother and cousin have just started a net radio station, Miso something-or-other (can't remember right now), on which they feature their (stupid) flagship show, Radio Mustafa. What I've heard of it is pretty dumb. But then, I think most of cousin's ideas are dumb. Although, they may get me to start participating so that they can have another voice actor. Hard to do much with only the two of them. They mostly play Anime songs, Jpop and Jrock, stuff I'm sure most of you don't listen to.

Why is it that ALL I want to drink lately is juice? Orange juice, apple juice, tomato juice... And I can't seem to eat much either the last week or so. I swear, I had a tiny piece of coffee cake and a Star Crunch with a bottle of Orange juice this morning, and I could barely eat a fish sandwich and medium fries for lunch. Took me about 1½ hours to finish it. And usually I'm STARVING after donating plasma. It's really weird.

Also, Uncle has decided to give me a couple bucks a week to wash his laundry and sweep out his room once a week. I'd do it just cuz it needs done, but if he wants to give me money to do it, I'm certainly not going to argue.

and just because... )

Okay, I was feeling all creative yesterday and I was actually going to work on my Karl story that I started a little while ago.  Since I've been using someone else's computer, I'll type stuff up in my e-mail and send it to myself.  Had the begining all done and perfect.  Then I went to retrieve it yesterday morning and I found that I had absentmidedly erased it.  A little annoying, but I had it mostly written out on paper, so I was fine.  ThenI spent all day looking for the notebook it's in.  And I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE!  I want to scream!  I hope no one threw it away while they were cleaning, or HEADS WILL ROLL!  And that was the notebook that had TONS of space in it.  GRRR!!

Arthritis is acting up in ALL my joints, but especially my knees/feet, so it hurts to walk.  And to top it all off, I've had a fever, however slight it is, for three days now and it still hasn't broken.  I've taken aspirin, actually got a lot of sleep last night, NOTHING!  I HATE being sick.

But I did find out today that a company in a near-by town is hiring for a secretary, so I think I need to re-do my resume and send it to them ASAP.  Only part time, but it's still money.

Hopefully I'll find my notebook so I can get that story underway.  And I hope this fever breaks soon.  I feel like crap!

How about some lovelies to make me feel better?

Orlando looking his usual lovely self... )

Some Yummy Viggo )

And in honor of there FINALLY being a new epi of SVU tonight... )
