~ Chapter 4 ~

Right before the boys go on, Katorea gives them each a hug and tells them good luck. They thank her and go on. The show is great. The boys are wonderful and the crowd loves them (of course!).

After the show, they go back to the hotel and talk some. Before she can even leave, Katorea falls asleep on the couch in the boys’ room. They don’t want to wake her, so they let her sleep on the couch. The next morning she wakes up and realizes where she is. No one else is awake and she doesn’t know which room Norm is in. She decides to wait up and ask whoever wakes up first. After she waits about twenty minutes, John comes out. “John?”

“Yeah?” he says, still groggy.

“Which room is Uncle Norm in?”

“Um, two doors down, I think. Why?”

“I’m going to see if he can get me a cab home.”

“Why don’t you see if you can use one of our cars? I’m sure he’ll let you.”

“Okay, I’ll go ask.” She gets up and goes to Norm’s room. She knocks on the door. There is no answer. She knocks again.

“Just a minute,” Norm yells at the door. He answers it as he is putting on his robe. “Yes, Katorea?”

“You can call me “Kat”, Uncle Norm.”

“Okay. What is it, Kat?”

“Is there any way I can get a ride home? John suggested that I take one of their cars. I can take a cab though.”

Norm looks at his watch. “Oh, God! We’re late! Um, no time. You don’t mind spending the day with us again, do you?

“No, I’ll call Mum and let her know. Can I use your phone?”

“Yeah. I have to go get the boys up and ready. I’ll be back in a minute.”

“Thanks. Wait, Uncle Norm?” He turns to her. “I don’t have any cloths with me. What am I going to wear?”

“I’ll see if any of the boys have any cloths that would fit you. I’m sure one of them does. Now go call your mum. We don’t have much time.”

After Katorea calls her mother and tells her she will be spending the day with Norm and the boys again, Norm walks into the room with a bundle of cloths, shoes and all. “Here you go. These are George’s pants and shirt, he was the closest to your size. You may have to roll up the pant legs a little, but they should fit otherwise. These are Paul’s shoes. His feet were closest to your size. If they’re too big, we can stop and get you some new one’s if necessary. And John sent his hat over. He thought that maybe you should wear it after the question about you at the press conference yesterday. You can change in here. I’ll go down to Shake’s room.”

After she was dressed, Katorea made her way to the Boys’ room. When she went in, they all stopped and laughed at her. George’s jeans were definitely too long. Katorea had to roll them up a few times. His shirt, on the other hand, was a bit tight at the top. John’s hat was a little too big for her head, but she managed to keep it on by putting all her hair up into it. “Ringo?”

“Yes,” he says, sort of giggling.

“Do you think one of your shirts would fit me a bit better? This one’s a tad bit too tight.”

“Let’s go see. Follow me.” She follows him to get a shirt. They find a black turtleneck that looks like it could fit. Ringo leaves and she tries it on. It fits much better. She comes back out just as Norm and Shake come back in to get them to leave. After they get into the cars, Katorea asks Norm, “What are we doing today?”

“Well, first the boys have a radio interview. Then they have a photo shoot. Then tonight they have another show. Tomorrow morning we set out to finish the tour. We get back home in two weeks.”

During the radio interview, Katorea sits and waits with Norm and Shake. Afterwards, they go to the photo shoot. It is about time for lunch, so Shake takes Katorea to get lunch to bring back for everyone.

The shoot is great. The Beatles are having fun and the photographer is getting creative. They take some great pictures. They ask if they can get some with Katorea just for them. The photographer agrees. They take on e with Katorea sitting in the middle of them. Then they take one with all four of them kissing her on the cheeks. They take a few with her with John’s hat on and a few without the hat. The photographer agrees to make six copies of each. One for each Beatle, one for Katorea, and one for Norm.

Back at the hotel, Katorea gives the boys her phone number and address and tells the boys, “Here. You guys can write to me while you’re finishing your tour up. Make sure one of you sends me a postcard from each city you visit. And here’s my number so you can call me if you want. Don’t worry, if you lose either one of them, Uncle Norm has them. I told him that I was giving them to you. He’ll be sure to have them with him.”

“Why are you giving them to us now? Aren’t you going to the show tonight?” Ringo sounded concerned.

“Of course I am. I just wanted to get this out of the way, since I’m going home after the show instead of coming back here with you guys. You’ll need plenty of sleep. You have a flight in the morning.”

“Okay. I just wanted to make sure you would be there. I didn’t want you to leave yet. We’ve been having too much fun.”

“I’ve been having fun with you guys, too. Believe me, I don’t want to leave you. I wish I could go on tour with you, but I just can’t get away from home long enough. I’ll see you after you get back. I’ll come and visit you. Don’t worry. Now, enough of this talk. Let’s talk about less depressing things.”

Close to when it is time to leave, Katorea asks if she can see each of the boys alone. First, she talks to Ringo. “Hello, Ringo. I just wanted to tell you that I have had a wonderful time with you and wanted to thank you for being so nice to me. I’m not too good at saying this kind of stuff in front of other people, that’s why I wanted to see each of you alone.”

“I’ve had a gear time with you, too. Thank you for asking Norm if you could meet us.”

“No problem.” With this they hug and she kisses him on the cheek. Ringo leaves. He sends in John.

“Hello, John. I wanted to talk to you because I wanted to say thank you. I had a really nice time with you, even if you were a pain in the neck,” she smiles at him. He smiles back. “Oh, and, off the record, were you trying to make Paul jealous yesterday?”

“When?”

“When it was probably a bit too obvious that I have a thing for George and he obviously has a thing for me. Paul, not George. Were you trying to make him mad when you kept trying to find as much in common between George and I? And were you doing what I thought you were doing?”

“Yes and probably. Yes, I was trying to make him mad. And, yes, I was trying to get George to realize you like him. And yes, it was very obvious. I even told him, but I don’t know if he believed me. You should ask him to go out with you when we get back. Ask him tonight so he can think about it if he needs to, even though he probably won’t have to.”

“I will. Thank you, John.” They hug and she kisses him on the cheek. John goes out and sends Paul in.

“Hello, Paul. I wanted to thank you for being so nice to me while I was here. I really had a good time with you guys.”

“No problem. I enjoyed having you here. I really like you.”

“Thank you, Paul…”

“No, I mean, I really like you. I was wondering if maybe, if it isn’t too much trouble, if you would go out with me when we get back. I would really like to take you out sometime. What do you say?” She just looks at him. Should she agree to a date with him? She doesn’t want to hurt him, but she doesn’t want to lead him on. “Look. I realize that you like George, and I understand if you don’t want to go out with me, but all I’m asking for is one date. I would just like to take you out one time. If you don’t want to, that’s okay. I understand.”

Katorea thinks a little bit more. A small smile comes to her face. “I’d like that very much, Paul. Thank you for asking. Call me and let me know when you would like to see me.”

Paul gets a big smile. “I will. Thank you.” He gives her a big hug and kisses her on the cheek and leaves. He sends George in.

“Hello, George. First of all, I want to thank you for putting up with me and being so nice. I really appreciate it. You were very kind, and I had a lot of fun.”

“I had fun, too.”

There is silence for a moment. Katorea speaks up, “I know that John told you that I like you. And, um, well, I do. I was kind of wondering if you would like to go on a date with me when you guys get back. I understand if you don’t want to, I was just wondering.”

George smiles. “Actually, I have to admit that I like you too. And I was going to ask you the same thing. So, I guess my answer is yes, I’ll take you out sometime.”

“Okay. Call me as soon as you get back. We’ll work something out.” They hug and she kisses him on the cheek. After she pulls away, he kisses her back, on the lips. Her face becomes flushed. Right when he pulls away, Norm knocks on the door.

“It’s time to go. Kat, when we leave to come back to the hotel, you are going to get into the car with Shake and I like you have been. When we get out at the hotel, the driver will take you home, okay?”

“Okay, Uncle Norm.” With that, they all go to the cars.

The show goes wonderfully. Paul and George are obviously very happy, as is Katorea. After the show, they say good-bye again. Just as they are about to go out to the cars, Katorea realizes she is still wearing their clothes. “Um, guys.”

“Yeah,” they say in unison.

“I’m still wearing your clothes.”

“That’s okay. You can keep the hat. I have more,” John says to her.

“You can give us back our stuff when we get back,” Paul says. Ringo and George agree.

“Thanks.” She gives them each a hug as they head out the door.

On the ride home, Katorea is left with her thoughts. ‘I hope they write to me. I hope George calls me when they get back. I hope I don’t hurt Paul too bad when I tell him that I don’t want to go out with him anymore after our date.’
