Sorry I haven't been around in a while. Both Dad and I have been downloading a bunch of torrents and that eats up the bandwidth. It's just not worth it to actually try and post anything anywhere. I have been trying to keep up on the boards and here on LJ.

I really should have been on more, though. It's not like I've been doing anything. I've been stranded at home for the last 2 weeks. Because of my last blood test being wacky and not being able to donate (it's normal again, so I'll start donating again next week), Austin and dad put my car up on the jack so Austin could finally put my brake line on. Well, a small part was lost, but we found out that I really didn't need it. But the one connector and nut were rusted together, so I had to have Paul buy me a new one so dad could put that on. Well, I'm sure I don't need to tell you that he still hasn't gotten to it. My car is still up on the jack. But, some of it's not his fault, as it was quite rainy for a while. Hopefully I can talk him into doing it tomorrow.

I hate winter. Not really, but I hate the cold. This stupid house is so drafty, it's ridiculous. We've had the heater and the upstairs kerosene heater both on high for the last few nights because it's been so cold. It's supposed to be in the 40's all week, so hopefully it'll warm up in here a little so we won't have to use so much kerosene. And, of course, my room is the cold one. It doesn't help that I only have a storm window next to my bed. Years ago, when my cousin was living here he threw one of his fits (he's 5 years older than me, so he was probably my age then) and busted out both the top and most of the bottom window. Lucky me. Dad says he's going to measure it and finally get around to putting in a replacement window. And we still only have a partial outer wall in the kitchen. Dad's supposed to get around to that one of these days. Hopefully by the end of the winter. Since dad's gotten his little girlfriend, he's been looking at the stuff to finish the house. Good. Maybe he'll actually get motivated enough to do it. Then we won't practically be living outside. lol

So, looks like we're going to be having an interesting Christmas dinner. Since we're going to be at Mom's on Christmas day and have to leave late morning, no later than noon, we're having our dinner on the day after Christmas. So far it looks like we'll be having cheese ball (homemade cream cheese/beef and possibly store bought cheddar), shrimp cocktail, crab legs, (ginormous) lasagna, and ton of tamales. I want about a dozen dozen. I plan on starting them a few days before and do them in stages so that there will be plenty for me and dad afterward. I'm going to get mom's recipe for this mushroom paté she's made the last few years at her house. It's pretty good. I'll post the recipe after she gives it to me.

Looks like we won't be having a tree again this year. Especially after Kim and Neal are stealing all the Christmas decorations. In fairness, I think they're Kim's anyway.

That's about all I can think of right now.
