I typed this all out last night, but the stupid videos on Photobucket broke my code, so I had to go type it all out again. Hopefully it works this time.
**********
May 21, 2010 is the best night of my life so far. Not that it started out that way, though. I need to start a few days earlier, though. On Wednesday, my Grandma and Uncle (step-grandpa) were going up to Mom's house to take her some stuff they had picked up for her. Since they were going up and my brother Austin was going to have to come pick me up for the show, my Mom had the idea to try and get my Grandma to bring me up. She called her and set it up and then I got a call to be ready b/c my Uncle would be here to pick me up in about an hour. So, I gathered up a couple of changes of clothes and my meds and books and got dressed. Uncle came to pick me up and we went to their house and switched to the car to drive up to Michigan. I stayed up there until we left for the show Friday evening. I got the entire house to myself on Thursday b/c both Mom and David had to work, like ALL day.

So, Friday evening when we left, it had just started raining. It was POURING by the time we got to East Lansing. I had to spend the only cash I had on parking. And most of it was supposed to be for an "I'm With CoCo" wristband. Austin let me out in front of The Breslin Center, but they didn't have Gate A open, so I had to hobble as quickly as I could around the side to Gate B. Needless to say, by the time I got there I was SOAKED. My entire shirt and the whole back of my pants. Of course, I had no jacket. But even the people with umbrellas were pretty soaked. The doors opened just as I walked up there, which was actually about 15-20 minutes late. So, we get inside and find our section. When Austin got the tickets from his friend, he found out his friend was mistaken and it wasn't 8th row, but 8th row in section 109. Luckily, section 109, row 8 was really close to the floor, about halfway back from the stage, so we still had pretty good seats. We were going to go to the seats and Austin was going to go back up to the merch table and get himself a shirt and my wristband, but then he realized that he'd left his wallet in the car. It was a while until showtime, so he figured he'd go out to the car and get it. Well, he went and even got a smoking pass, but the woman wouldn't let him go out. So, I didn't get my wristband. :( I was just going to order it off the Team Coco webstore, but the shipping is more than the band! A wristband that would have cost me $5 at the show would cost me almost $13 off the site. Conan, you know I love you, but I am NOT paying that much money for a rubber band. A flat-rate shipping envelope/box costs less than $5, how is shipping almost $8?

Anyway, we were disappointed, but we were still at the show, so it wasn't too big a deal. The show started a bit late, seeing as the doors opened late, but I was watching the stage, seeing who I could see on the edge. I was watching for Bley coming out onstage to take pics. At one point I noticed Mike Sweeney come out on the floor and head to the back to talk to the sound/light guys, so I had Austin get a pic of him. Jeff Ross also came out and he got a couple pics of him, but I couldn't find them on the card. :( Of course, he got Bley.

Pic of Sweeney, just b/c I didn't want it outside of the cut.

And Bley waving at someone in the section next to ours.

So, the lights go down and Reggie Watts comes on. He's freaking hilarious. I wasn't sure what to expect, but he certainly delivered. Here, have his performance of "Fuck Shit Stack".

Then the band comes on stage. I must say, the LPB is AWESOME. Seriously, I would pay money just to see them perform. They were AMAZING.

When they came down off the stage, La Bamba stopped right in front of our section and got us singing and clapping.

Pender went up the stairs on the right side of our section and sang and played a bit.

On his way back to the stage he did the famous 2 minute note of his. HOLY CRAP. That man can play.

After the band played, it was time for THE MAN.
click for vid of his entrance, since this stupid thing broke my post last night.

After the monologue, it was time for the guitar to come out. *growl* (That's right, we got a purple shirt.) Here's where he did his "life story" version of "Poke Salad Annie".

And how do you get out of opening your show with such an epic, rocking song? Why, strobe light dancing, of course.

I'm sorry, what was I saying? I was watching the thrusting in the video. Right. "Poke Salad Annie". After that, Andy came out. Yay, Candy! ♥ Anyway, they riffed a bit, Andy did a "commercial" for 'The Riv', a bar in East Lansing, they riffed some more...

Then they brought out Meatlof's "Bat Out of Hell" Tour bat. That poor, pathetic bat. I felt bad for how much they were ripping on it. Andy: "Somewhere, a car dealership is missing some flags."

Then Conan announced an old friend wanted to say something before heading offstage. It was Triumph. I love the badly dubbed lines.

After Triumph, it was time for what ALL the ladies (and some guys. Don't think I'd leave them out.) were waiting for. And if they weren't, they should have been. The Eddie Murphy "Raw" purple leather outfit. *drool* Now, I don't know about you guys, but I actually like the waxed/shaved chest. I like man with a smooth chest I can lick without fear of hairballs. LOL.

Then it was Andy's turn. Andy on his little horse. Andy told us what he learned after TTS ended. "I learned the adults in my book club don't like adult books." And this is why I love you, Andy Richter. ♥

Deon Cole came out to 'try out some new jokes'. I knew Deon was going to be funny and he didn't disappoint. At one point he asked, since there were 'so many white people', what they hated doing in front of black people. One guy up in the back yelled out, "Play hockey". Deon ripped. him. apart. It was hilarious.

Conan and Andy come back out and Conan has his conversation with the audience. LOL, fun. No pics for this part, but I have a vid of Conan licking La Bamba for your enjoyment. I have to say, and I never thought I'd say this, I have never wanted to be a mustachioed, trombone playing Jew more than in that moment. ROFL. Seriously, since Conan seems to like to lick people so much, he should lick me. (Get your minds out of the gutter, [livejournal.com profile] conan_unrated members! You know what I mean. Oh, you do, maybe your minds were in the right placce to begin with. ;P )

As you can see from the end of the video, he went right into "On the Road Again". No vid or pics for that. Austin was trying to conserve battery power. Especially by then. Anyway, after that, he announced a 'special, special guest', which turned out to be Kid Rock. meh. I've seen Kid Rock before, so it was no big deal. Could have been worse, though, it could have been The White Stripes like a bunch of people were apparently wanted. Blech. I would have been sorely disappointed if they had been. Anyway, Kid Rock sang "If I Were President", but tailored it to the show, like saying he'd make all the TVs show Conan O'Brien. If only. haha.

After Kid Rock's performance, Conan brought out another old friend. The Masturbating Bear. Or, should I say, The Self-pleasuring Panda.

After they kicked the Panda off the stage they brought out the Walker Texas Ranger Lever, er, I mean, the Chuck Norris Rural Police Handle. Oh, I missed you old friend. Long time fans of LNwCOB have seen all the clips he showed, but it was still funny. After a few clips they brought out Sarah Killjoy. ew. I am NOT soiling my journal with the vid or pics she's in. I only wish Austin had known who she was so he hadn't taken so many pics of her. I don't want to talk about her any more, but I have to say that she looked extremely uncomfortable and awkward up there. Why'd she have to be from Michigan? And, of course, he looks good in some of those pics, too.
A link to the lever handle being brought out and the first clip.

The two clips before Killjoy's appearance. ADORABLE ALERT: stomach-holding laugh in the middle.

And then it was time for the end of the show. Have I ever said how much I love the Rockabilly jacket? Because I do. It's awesome. "I Will Survive".

Everyone from me over to the aisle left at this point. I stayed seated because I knew there was an encore coming. They all came back out and did "40 Days". I wish the camera hadn't died in the middle of the song. It's a really good song. Ronnie Hawkins & The Hawks, FTW. I love how eclectic his musical taste is. And just the fact that he loves Rockabilly makes me love him more. Anyway, the camera turned back on long enough for Austin to grab a couple pics when he came down off stage. He stood on a chair down on the floor right in front of our section. Of course, he went up into the section almost across from us.
Here they are all coming back out for the encore.

And the beginning of the song, anyway.

While I was waiting for Austin to bring the car around, I overheard some people saying where the doors were. I had seen the buses, but hadn't noticed they were right next to this little wall that surrounded a ramp that went underground where visiting players go. When we got over there, La Bamba was already out talking to people (asking about bars, LOL), signing things and taking pics. Unfortunately he was a ways away from me, and I knew I wouldn't be able to hobble over and stand there long enough to get to him and get an autograph, so i sent Austin with my ticket. I sat on the hood of the car. He came back after a while and showed me the signed ticket. After a minute, he left again to try to catch more people, though he missed a few band members. Also, while he was standing way across the crowd, Sweeney got stopped by a couple people in front of me to get pics taken. I tried to signal Austin so he could bring my ticket over and maybe take a pic with his phone, but he didn't see me. I even tried calling him, but he didn't answer. When he came back over, I told him what had happened and he told me his phone was in the car and, besides, he doesn't have texting right now and doesn't have the micro SD card he needs to take pics off. I told him he should grab it just in case, anyway. So he did and took off again, LOL. We waited and waited. I'll admit, I kept listening in on the people talking right in front of me. Of course, I learned later one of them was a member of my own beloved [livejournal.com profile] conan_unrated, and I guessed as much from the conversation. I knew I should have asked like I wanted to. :P Anyway, after quite a wait, the bus backed down the ramp. After more waiting, the bus pulled up and stopped. Conan and Andy came out of the bus and Conan was SWARMED by everyone standing out there. I even managed to hobble over there. I ended up just a small gap away from Austin and tried to get him to give me my ticket, but he didn't hear me. :/ I ended up getting moved to the front of the crowd, like right in front of Conan. At one point he was, no joking, about 6" in front of me. And at one point he reached his arm RIGHT UNDER MY NOSE. I couldn't resist. I had to sniff him. He smelled clean. Not like soap or after-shave, just...clean. Amazingly, not sweaty after putting on a 2 hour show. And, since he was wearing the brown leather jacket (which is now, officially, my favorite article of his clothing) I mostly smelled leather. Mmm. Seriously, he smelled good. I keep reliving it by closing my eyes and slowly inhaling. I can still smell it. O.o LOL, I think I'm clinically insane now. ^_^

Anyway, He looked at me a couple times to see if I had anything for him to sign. I nearly asked him to sign the shirt I was wearing, but some guy thrust a tour shirt in front of me and asked him to sign it. Just after that is when he turned around to get back on the bus. These next couple pics are not mine, but one has Austin and the other two have my head. Unfortunately, I missed Bley. :( I really wanted his autograph. But Austin managed to get Conan's autograph for me.

This one is by [livejournal.com profile] snicketcrazy13. Austin is right behind Conan's chin.

This first one, you can see how close I was to him. The very top of my head is in the middle of the screen. The second one is when he turned toward me. My head is in the lower left corner. When he reached in front of me, his arm was right under my nose. These are both by Aimee Okeke Stanton.

And here is my signed ticket.

And that is my Legally Prohibited Tour report. It was a great show, much fun was had.

Oh, yeah. More Pics and some vids on my Photobucket.
