busy, busy, busy...
So, yesterday was Uncle's first Chemo appointment. Dad had an appointment with his lawyer for his Social Security/Disability case partway through it, so he wasn't sure if he'd be able to be there when it was over. I got recruited to drive the hour or so to take him up there. So we got there and it was supposed to take 6 hours. A little before 11am I called Pauly(oldest brother) to see if he wouldn't mind coming into town before work (he works on the other side of the city) to have lunch with me. He had a few things to do, as he had just woken up but said he'd be there in about 2 hours. So I sat out on the porch and did some "seek and circle" puzzles for a while. When Pauly got there we went to Downtown Toledo and went to Spaghetti Warehouse. I ended up paying for his lunch too. I figured, he kept me occupied and came up early, so it was the least I could do. He stopped at a new store that he wanted to check if they were opened yet and then he dropped me back off before heading to work. I think he actually ended up being a couple minutes late because he took so long in the store. :p
Hung out for a little while longer waiting for Uncle. A nurse came out and talked to me, gave me his info and stuff. He didn't get done until after 5:30 pm, so it actually took closer to 8 hours. (So far he's feeling alright, he says. No nausea or anything, just a tad more tired than usual.)
Then this morning I had to run into town and pick up his prescriptions. There were two from the chemo doctor that got called in, but we didn't get back to town until after they were closed. Plus he had some others he needed. I also stopped at the store and picked up some other things for him.
And now I need to go take a nap because I didn't sleep long last night and I have a plasma appointment in a few hours. *YAWN*
