The last of the songs from 1776:

domino43: (1776 - Turkey?)
But I had virtually NO access to the computer until today, since brother had yesterday off work. So, I guess it's time to play catch-up.

Here's one of my favorite songs in 1776:

More under here )

And my other favorite:

That's all until tomorrow!
domino43: (1776 - Turkey?)

And since I only did 1 yesterday:

And I'll be back with another later tonight. I want to post all the songs by the 4th.

domino43: (George - sit hat)
So, I don't know if anyone even noticed, but I've been missing around here for a while. Brother was on vacation this week, so I've pretty much just had enough time on the internet to check my email. And sometimes not even everyday. But brother goes back to work in the morning, so I'll be able to get back on everyday. I've just finished going over 500 back pages of missed posts. That's nearly 1000 posts. Admitted, I skipped most community posts and I need to go back and actually read a few people's posts.

Well, it's that time again, folks. Time for me to watch 1776, like, everyday. Or, at least the songs everyday until the 4th. Why, yes, I AM weird. :P I have fittingly changed my mood theme to 1776. Here, have a clip:

And, SQUEEEEE! Trailer for Red came out. I cannot watch it enough. This movie is going to be AWESOME. I swear, it has got the best cast. And it opens 2 weeks after my birthday. And I'm having a fangasm over Bruce Willis and Karl Urban being in the same movie. On opposite sides. And they have a fight scene. Hello porn for Christina. LOL Seriously, the only thing that can make the movie even better than the trailer is if those two have a stand-off/shoot-out.

I'm trying to decide if I want to read the Graphic novel before or after I see the movie. I know they are actually pretty different. I didn't read the graphic novel of A History of Violence until after I'd seen the movie. I was a bit disappointed they didn't stick a little closer to the novel, if only for the ending. It's weird because the actual ending of it is kind of something I could see Cronenberg doing. I read the graphic novel of Watchmen before seeing the movie. I was actually alright with the movie. I'm not gonna lie, there were problems, but overall it was good. I don't know, I'll see if I get around to it before the movie comes out, so I have 3 1/2 months to decide.

Um, that's all I can think of for now. I'll be back later, probably with another 1776 clip. Now, I am tired and I need to go to sleep.

I haven't posted a real update since March 22? Wow. I don't know where my head has been.

Mostly a health update. Again. I'm sure you guys are getting sick of all the health crap, but I figure I need this stuff documented anyway. And I'm sure there are a few who might care what's going on. (Sorry. That's the depression talking.)

So, I've seen the Doctor since the last post. He reduced the prednisone a little. Also, I told him about the couple weeks of insomnia I was having and he gave me a Rx for Amitriptyline to take before bed. I haven't gotten it yet. I've been sleeping a little better again, but who knows how long that will last. He also told me NOT to take any naps. He's having me come in in a couple weeks and having me see the pharmacy people so they can teach me how to give myself the MTX injections. He's going to try to send me home with the vials of meds so I don't have to pay out of pocket for it. That way I only have to go up there once a month to see him. He'd give me the vials for the next month then.

Speaking of Rx-es, I just found out yesterday that since 2005 that Ohio has had a Rx discount program for uninsured people. It happens to cover all but my new med. According to the site, I can get my meds for nearly half what I've been paying for them. That will REALLY be a help this month. I have to pay out SO MUCH this month that I'm only going to have about $100 for food all month. Looks like I'll be having a LOT of leftovers. That's okay, though.

Also, I'm in the middle of making my brother's costume for ACEN this year. I have about a day's work left on it. (I really should get going on that so I can get it pretty much finished tonight.) Then next week I have to do Corie's. They're both going as characters from Trinity Blood
pics under the cut to save space. )
I only have to finish the cape and collar on Paul's, then do a little hemming, add the zipper and the white trim and I'm done. Then I'm taking a day or two off because the chair I have to sit in to sew kills my back and the standing kills my back and legs. And The motions of sewing are making my wrists swell and hurt. And my eyes are getting strained in the terrible lighting in the dining room. Well, it's fine, except where I need to sit in order to have space to work.

20 DAYS TILL CONAN! I CAN'T WAIT! I can't help but keep wondering who the special guest is going to be. In every city they've had special guests. Most are natives of the city/area the show is in. I can only think of one person that it could be. Ted Nugent. And that would be AWESOME. Besides the fact that I've seen Ted twice, I just think he's hilarious. And we've seen evidence of Conan/Ted awesomeness before.

Best New Year song ever.

Now I have to start paying attention to "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve".

Real update later.
domino43: (ST:TNG - Data is awesome)
Oh, Brent Spiner, this is why I love you.

domino43: (1776 - Turkey?)
Just finished some Turkey Day prep. Not as much as we'd hoped, but still a good amount. Turducken is ready to go in (Can't wait to try it!) for the night and turkey will go in in the morning.
Listening to my Nerd!Rock playlist on Youtube. Just mentioning it because I feel nerdy right now.
I think I'm officially addicted to games on Facebook. :p Especially What to Wear. It must be the designer in me.
Ugh. I went looking for this vid to fave it on Youtube I had commented on about a year ago. The comments make me so angry.

If you notice, I had to school all those chumps that believe that house was haunted and the land still is. That is the house my dad was born in in 1962. They lived there until, like 1968 to 1970-ish. The video is true in that the last people to live there were sometime in the mid-late 70's. There were never any murders there. They supposedly happened in the 70's and my dad lived about a mile away then (the house we currently live in) and was in High School. I think he'd remember. Plus there's no record of it. Plus...IT NEVER HAPPENED! The only one to die there in a LOOOOONG, LONG time was a baby. It was my cousin. It just makes me angry when people insist they've experienced things there. Especially since most of them are drunk or high when they would go out there. *rollseyes* [/rage]

And Scott Hamilton is the best. And this is my fave Scott Hamilton routine.

I still can't get over that he's from my hometown area.

I am beat.

domino43: (John - I Need A Drink!)
I actually feel felt like I had to be productive today. I caught up the laundry and did dishes, made a bag of homemade garlic croutons, and made some pudding (for me. hehe) and jello for either after dinner or for lunch tomorrow. Also made lunch for the kids. All within 2 hours. Now I'm beat. But if I can't get dad to make spaghetti tonight, I'll probably end up making it, since Corie and brother are outside with the kids. We'll see.

Oh, I can NOT stop singing these two songs to myself for the last few days:

That whole show is just great. Here's a link to my playlist of the whole show: Celtic Woman: A New Journey (Live @ Slane Castle)

Like Durga, you don't mind putting up a fight when it comes to matters of the heart. You are extremely protective of the people you love, whether it's friends, family or sweeties...

Which Devi are you?

I just made some yummy Eggplant Parm for dinner tonight. A couple days ago my grandma brought over 4 small Chinese eggplants (the long skinny ones). I couldn't do a stuffed eggplant parm like I wanted, nor a layered one like a lot of people do. The pieces were so small I had to mix the sauce and cheese in, kind of like baked ziti. It was still pretty yummy.

OH! This morning (Monday morning, I guess) there was a fire at brother's work! I guess, one of their machines broke down and one of the guys went into the house (their office is in an old farmhouse on the property) to pee and came back telling a manager he smelled smoke. He went and checked it out and came back in yelling "THE BARN'S ON FIRE!". (on a lighter note: one of the guys thought he said "A BIRD'S ON FIRE!" LOL) They went out to try and put it out while 3 different guys called 911. Luckily it was just the barn where they store boxes and bags and things, so it wasn't really TOO big a loss. They got to come home early. I keep joking with brother that he started it so he could come home and take a nap, since that's what he did. They aren't sure what started it, but the workers are pretty sure it was the garage door motor b/c before the fire departments got there the door came slamming down on it's own. They go back tomorrow, so only one lost day of work. Here's a vid from the 6 o'clock news:

domino43: (Dhani - Squee!)
Thenewno2's video for "Yomp" just debuted on MTVu today. If you have MTVu, try to catch it. You can also see it on MTVu.com (If that one doesn't work, try this one). This is quickly becoming my favorite song of theirs. These guys are so awesome.

Here, why not have a look-see:

My God, I absolutely LURVE this video. ♥

It's got everything. Relaxed and happy George (with family and friends!), George playing slide, his famous Elvis impersonation... I love the end shot where he picks up the guitar (more than I probably should). And it's just a great song.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!eleventy-one!! [/fangirl] (bah. where's my "squee"ing Dhani icon when I need it?)
I have NEVER seen this video. WHY?

I just love that entire album. *sigh*
