Dilemma!

All 3 of my nephews to sign up for the NaNoWriMo Young Writers Program. They're actually pretty excited about it. They've got their titles and their outlines all worked out already. It's pretty awesome.

Now to my dilemma: I know it's only 6 days until NaNo starts, but I've been wanting to participate since I heard about it back in 2006. I don't really have anything to write, though. That's pretty much why I've never participated. But I'd really, REALLY like to participate this year. Which, okay, I just sign up and do it. But my dilemma is that I don't really know what to write. There's one Original Fiction idea I've had in the back of my mind for years. I have the barest of basic idea of the plot, or part of the plot, swimming around in my head. I've never gotten around to writing it because it's pretty heavy, serious material. I don't know if I can handle that with such a strong deadline, but on the other hand, maybe that definite deadline could make me actually write it. The other thing I was thinking of was maybe easing myself into it by writing an epic fanfic for a fandom I've been wanting to write for for a while. I actually kind of have an idea for that one. No matter which way I go, I have about the same amount of an idea for it.

So, what do you guys think? Serious original fiction or epic fanfic?

The problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

Health stuff. Skip if you want. )

And, if you read that up there, you may have noticed that I said I have my new hearing date. The day before Thanksgiving. Which is pretty close. And that also means that unless the judge decides that day, I'll have to wait until probably the middle of December for a decision. But, you know what? That's fine. I just want to get this over with. I don't even care so much about the money, though it would be nice, I just want medical insurance.

I was going to talk about something else, but I lost my train of thought. If I think of it and deem it important enough, I'll post again.

domino43: (Conan - Birthday)
Okay, so it's not my B-day anymore, technically, but I don't care. I had a decent day. I got to see my new nephew, Ayden, for the first time. I got to watch the Boca Juniors win their game! And, for the first time in years, I didn't have to make my own b-day cake. Well, cupcakes.

Piccies under here )

And with that, I should be getting to bed. I have a Drs. appt. in the morning. But at least I get a free B-day Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity at IHOP on my way home. Yay.

SodaStream Fountain Jet Soda Maker.

I'd LOVE to be able to make my own soda! I drink a lot of soda and it would be nice to be able to change it up from bottle to bottle without all the cans and boxes and plastic bottles. It would be really great to have soda at the touch of a button, made out of tapwater, whenever you want it.

Think of the money I'd save. And think of all the trash I'd save. I mean, I recycle my cans, but not even having them to start with? How great would that be? Even if I only replaced HALF of the soda I buy, it would make a substantial difference, monetarily and environmentally.

I really want to be a part of this BzzCampaign.

for anyone that does memes.

Can anyone link me to any of their posts where they did one of those 'write it out on paper and post a picture of it' memes? I've been wanting to do them for a while, but the camera was missing. Now it's found and I'm going to have it out later today, so now is the perfect time to do them.

*ahem*

I want to get a costume, like an obvious costume, and just wear it to the store. Not around Halloween or even in October. Just, in the middle of July or something, just show up in a costume and do my shopping.

Doesn't it sound fun to just one day get up, dress up as a zombie, or a mummy, or a Disney Princess, or whatever, the whole get-up, and just go do some grocery shopping? Of course, nowhere near Halloween so people don't just assume you're on the way to a Halloween Party. Middle of July, January, practically anytime but late September-early Novemer, just show up in a full costume and act like it's any other day.

I got a Bzz Kit not too long ago for Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Bowl Cleaner. I received the start-up kit and some coupons.

I loved the Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel, but this stuff is even better. One use and the toilet bowl was sparkling.

First off, I got the starter kit. This thing is so simple to use. The starter kit comes with the device and a can of the cleaner. It's really easy to use. Just pop the can in and slide the sleeve on, put the sprayer over the edge of the bowl, and you're ready to clean. Just hit the peddle with your foot and *BING*, your bowl is clean. A few seconds twice a day ensures a sparkly clean, fresh smelling toilet bowl.

Like I said, one use and the bowl was sparkling. It smells really nice, too. Not really a cleaner smell at all. There are two scents available, Sparkling Spring and Fresh Mountain Morning. The Starter Kit came with Fresh Mountain Morning. Really nice smell. I want to see what the Sparkling Spring smells like.

As awesome as this product is, I have two small complaints, both very minor. First of all, I don't know if it was just our toilet, or if it's a problem across the board, but the spray nozzle didn't fit right. When it sprayed, it went a little over the bowl. Just a little bit of a fine mist, but it did spray over. Tried adjusting the nozzle, but it didn't help. Not a big problem, but it would be nice if it didn't do it. The second complaint isn't really much of a complaint, since it actually is also kind of a plus about the product. It's so easy and fun to use that the kids might find it irresistible. We tried telling the kids to leave it to the adults, but one of them didn't hear us. He was a bit confused and thought you were supposed to use it after every flush. By the end of the day, the cleaner can was pretty much empty. A month's worth of cleaner gone in less than two days. But, on the plus side, the bowl is still pretty clean. Someone needs to pick up a new can of cleaner soon.

So, yeah, I really like this product. It's simple, fairly cheap (about $10-12 for the starter kit, $4-5 for a refill), and cleans great. The pros definitely outweigh the couple of small cons.

Bottom line: if you want a clean, fresh toilet bowl and don't want to spend a lot of time or money on it, go out and get the Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Bowl Cleaner. I wish I had enough money to mail out coupons to anyone that wanted them. Guess I'll have to just hand them out locally.
